The Art of Earth Offerings

Entering into Sacred Partnership with Pachamama’s
Seen and Unseen Guardians of Ayni

Please join me in creatively and joyously honoring the Unseen Beings of nature through gratitude, humility and heart-centered offerings of beauty medicine designed to inspire and initiate right relationship with our Sacred Web of Kinship under the loving guidance of Mt. Lassen (Apu Kohm Yah-mah-nee).
Based on the teachings of don Oscar Miro Quesada, this in-depth apprenticeship is designed to develop skill and intelligence in the ceremonial application of ayni through the art of despacho making, based in Peruvian shamanism.
In addition to the Course Essentials book, you will receive a never before offered Despacho Handbook including ceremonial components, an exhaustive list of ingredients and their symbolism in shamanism, and intention-specific healing ceremonies.
  • ​Develop a deep personal relationship with the five unseen Guardians of Ayni:  Tirakuna, Awkikuna, Malkikuna, Machula Awlanchis, and Apukuna.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the specific offerings and their uses when engaging the Guardians of Ayni for healing in despachos.
  • Establish a comfort level with creating despachos for personal, communal, and planetary healing.
  • Serve your community as an empowered ceremonialist, leading despacho ceremonies and integrating them into your shamanism practice.
  • Honor the traditional roots of Andean despacho making and explore the contemporary and regional additions to this art.
  • Experience and understand the three primary ways of offering despachos: burying, burning, and offering to water.
  • Receive a minimum of 36 hours of in-person training on the ritual arts of despacho creation and offering in healing service for an individual (Self), the community (Culture), and the planet (Nature).
  • Create and maintain your own despacho kit.

Mill Creek Resort is a historic, family-owned eco-resort just 20 minutes from Lassen Volcanic National Park.  They are dedicated to earth stewardship, sourcing local, organic foods and supporting their guests in re-connecting with the natural world.  It is the perfect setting for our in-depth work, allowing us abundant access to nature, the Unseen guardians of reciprocity and time away from the stress and overstimulation of our day to day lives.

The below prices reflect the meals, lodging and event costs for a full five-day retreat.  My tuition is $500 for over 40 hours of teachings, transmissions and ceremonies.  I hope you will join me in immersing ourselves in nature through devotional practices of ayni in gratitude for all that our Earth Mother, Moon, Sun, the sacred Elements, Encanto Spirits and the Guardians of Sacred Reciprocity offer us generously every day.
LODGING AND MEALS ARE FOR FOUR NIGHTS AND FIVE DAYS:  

Meals
Mill Creek is providing all of our meals, starting with dinner on Thursday and ending with lunch on Monday. They source local and organic ingredients and prepare all of the catered meals by hand on site.  We are blessed in Northern California to host many local organic farmers who sell all year round at our farmer's market in Chico, where I live, and in Red Bluff, closer to the campground.  Mill Creek makes weekly shops to our areas for the freshest seasonal options available.

If you have a friend who would like to share meals and lodging with you without
attending the retreat, they are welcome to do so.

Cancellation Policy:  Full refund minus $100 fee if cancelled before June 1st, 1/2 refund if cancelled before August 9th, non-refundable if cancelled after August 9th

What to Expect:
  • Early October is a beautiful time of year in Northern California, with warm days and cool nights with infrequent rain. 
  • Please bring lots of layers, a rain jacket and hiking shoes in additional to comfortable walking shoes.  
  • We will be outdoors a significant amount of the time in additional to working indoors in the ritual space.
  • Mill Creek has a fire pit for our burning ceremony, creek access and lots of hiking trails.
  • It is a 20min drive to Lassen Volcanic Park, where we will have a picnic lunch and pilgrimage to ​Apu Kohm Yah-mah-nee (Lassen).
  • The campground will be hosting other campers, so please be prepared to see other families and children around.
  • The easiest way to arrive if you are flying is to fly into the Sacramento Airport.  From there, rent a car or carpool to Mill Creek.  It is approximately 2hr & 45min from the airport, north off of Interstate 5.
What to Bring:
  • Clothing (see above)
  • Sunscreen & bug repellent
  • Bathing suit
  • Water shoes (optional) & hiking shoes
  • Warm layers & rain coat, warm hat
  • A backjack, yoga cushion, camp chair or other type of seating if you wish (chairs will be provided)
  • Pachakuti Mesa altar ground
  • Journal, pen and eye cover if you wish
  •  A photo of a large rock outcropping, ancestral temple sites or burial ground, or a rock outcropping that is meaningful to you
  • A small amount of dried or fresh animal product (for example: fur, fat, bone, or jerky)
  • A photo of a meadow or lush area that is meaningful to you
  • A small amount of dried flowers, plant matter, seeds, tobacco etc.
  • A photo of a tree that is meaningful to you
  • A small amount of one of the following: mica, crushed crystals, pyrite, small gemstones, sand or similar mineral offering 
  • A photo of a revered ancestor with which you have a relationship
  • A small amount of one of the following: sugar, sprinkles, or other biodegradable human-made offering
  • A photo of a mountain with which you have a relationship
  • A small amount of one of the following: coca leaves, bay leaves or incense of any kind
